I was born in Athens, 1990, and since childhood, physical activities have been an integral part of my life. For many years, having practiced various dynamic sports, eventually, I came across Kung Fu alongside my studies on Fine Arts at the University of Ioannina, during 2008. With great enthusiasm and dedication I began intensive training on Chinese traditional martial arts of Wushu Kung Fu, with instructor Christos Stavropoulos. My training was focused on the Choi Mok Pai system, a style that has its roots in the southern Shaolin tradition. After 8 years of practice I was given the degree of black belt by the Hellenic Wushu Kung Fu Federationa and also later 2 duan degree.
My interest in discovering the deeper aspects of Kung Fu led me to the Chen style Tai Chi Quan and Qi Gong practices, in 2011.
It was then when I decided to try the Yoga path, thus magnifying my spiritual interests. The following years, I began to participate intensively in Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga classes as it all felt very beneficial for me. My life begun to reshape and evolve positively as this process, was exactly what was needed in my quest for inner balance.
In 2015 I moved to Athens, continuing my Kung Fu training at Choi Mok Pai, Chen Tai Chi Quan and Qi Gong, with Master Tang Tung Wing.
At the same time, I decided to attend my first Yoga Teacher Training Course (200 hours) on Hatha Yoga with Christos Charikiopoulos and as early as the following year, I started to teach Yoga classes myself, keeping it on until today. In 2018, I traveled to India and completed the second Yoga Teacher Training Course (300 hours) in the city of Rishikesh. Additionally, I finished the Yoga Kids Teacher Training Course (95 hours) at the Flower Kids Yoga School.
The need for continuous training and development became my motivation for all those years, leading me to come across various seminars about yoga, meditation, Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture and Chinese massage Tuina) and certifide trainings in Thailand on Traditional Thai Massage Therapy at ITM School (Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4).
In 2018, in an effort to go deeper into kung fu inner arts and holistic practices I traveled to China. Under the guidance of Master Huang Hua, I studied Qi Gong and Tai Chi Quan (Yang and Chen systems). After two months of intensive teacher training program, I gained the instructor’s degree from Huang Hua Tai Chi Academy.
As of now, I live in Greece, in the city of Mytilene and I teach Qi Gong, Tai Chi Quan and Yoga at Eutopia Yoga & Tai Chi Center, which was founded by me and my wife Katia Melnik, who is a Yoga teacher as well. Our goal is to spread these special practices from the tradition of the East to the West, so that one, becomes able to attain his/her own eu-topia – place of ideal well-being as an achievable destination.
